Core User Employees with Assigned Workday Security Roles

Finance, supply chain, HR and payroll professionals will need more robust training to provide them with the knowledge they need to be successful in their roles.

Employees with Workday security roles should have received notification from an administrative leader in their area, such as the Senior Business Officer, Senior Financial Officer or Controller. Each security role has an associated set of training. These trainings will be assigned on your BuckeyeLearn Transcript. Recommended training will not appear on your BuckeyeLearn Transcript but can be accessed in BuckeyeLearn by using the search function.

Instructions for using the Course Assignments by Security Role Matrix:

Open the Course Assignments by Security Role Matrix. Select the cell D3, and use the drop-down arrow that appears to choose a security role from the list. Once a security role is chosen, the “Expected” and “Recommended” courses will show up for that security role. Up to 10 security roles can be selected at once so individuals with more than one assigned security role can see their various courses. If the same training is assigned in multiple security roles, it only needs to be completed once.

The courses highlighted in yellow (rows 6-9) should be taken first.

Course details, such as durations, delivery methods and workstream are subject to change. Additional courses could also be added to this list. These courses will also be supplemented by videos, job aids and reference guides.

Other Workday Resources

  • Administrative Resource Center - A complete library of all available Workday guides, job aids, training, and answers to frequently asked questions.
  • BuckeyeLearn - All training that core users are expected to take will be listed on an individual's BuckeyeLearn transcript. Training is assigned on a rolling basis, so check your BuckeyeLearn Transcript often.

Workday Lab Tenant

The lab tenant is a Workday environment that you can access using your Ohio State credentials and experience Workday as yourself, with your security and data. Lab tenant login instructions can be found via this Box link: https://osu.box.com/s/vkvmjs1busldfynktx52fbtqkqakv9t0

The goal of the lab tenant is to:

  • Allow you to validate your personal data
