Basso Draws on Experience and Expertise as Executive Sponsor
One of Susan Basso’s first major initiatives since joining Ohio State as senior vice president for talent, culture and human resources is guiding the Enterprise Project as an executive sponsor. Basso was formally introduced to the project team at the kickoff of the project’s second phase, the Architect Phase Community Forum held in September, 2017.
The project’s executive sponsors are charged with defining the project’s strategic direction, securing resources, making key decisions and resolving issues. Bruce McPheron - Provost and Executive Vice President, Mike Papadakis - Interim Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Jim Bozzini - Workday Executive VP of Customer Operations are executive sponsors alongside Basso.
A seasoned HR expert, Basso has more than 25 years of leadership experience. She most recently served as vice president for human resources at the Pennsylvania State University, where she led a variety of impactful projects, including a redefinition of the HR service delivery model and implementation of Workday at the peer Big Ten institution. Basso has successfully led three enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations throughout her career. She has authored several articles and has spoken at several regional and national conferences on HR transformation, and particularly, the role of modern-day technology. She acknowledged that the Enterprise Project and other opportunities attracted her to Ohio State.
