Change Coordinators Learn Change Concepts

The Enterprise Project’s Change Network met prior to the start of fall semester to learn about change management concepts and to connect with peer Change Coordinators.

Every college and support unit at Ohio State has identified a liaison, known as a Change Coordinator, to help guide faculty and staff in understanding the business transformations associated with the Enterprise Project. Ohio State’s group of Change Coordinators, along with each coordinator’s college/unit support team, is collectively known as the Change Network.

Organizational Change Management (OCM) Directors Anne Massaro and Bonnie Benson opened the session by sharing project updates and accomplishments. They reiterated a steadfast commitment from the Executive Sponsors in supporting the project’s ongoing work, as well as their desire to move forward with additional transformation opportunities.

Karen Durano, change manager for the Wexner Medical Center, led the Change Coordinators through several foundational change management concepts. She introduced the Prosci® ADKAR® model to change, which is the framework Ohio State is leveraging to guide the university community through individual and organizational change journeys.

The group also brainstormed ideas for a toolkit of resources and strategies for building awareness about the project and desire to implement the coming changes. The OCM team asked Change Coordinators to identify three strategies to support increasing awareness that they will employ throughout the next several months.

Change Coordinators will continue to meet with the Enterprise Project OCM team, including smaller group conversations in autumn 2018, to craft personalized strategies for their colleges and units. Faculty and staff should expect Enterprise Project communications from their college or unit leadership, Change Coordinator and Enterprise Project channels throughout the academic year.
