CFAES Change Coordinators Setting the Bar

Enterprise Project Change Coordinators and Ambassadors for the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) have been spreading awareness about Workday at the college level. With more than 1,800 faculty and staff spanning 11 academic departments, seven outlying research stations and three campuses, as well as Extension offices in all 88 Ohio counties, the CFAES Change Coordinators understand the importance of staying connected.

The Enterprise Project Change Network consists of more than 90 Change Coordinators, each supported by a team of Change Ambassadors. The Change Coordinators represent each college, unit and hospital across the institution, and are charged with building awareness of the project and preparing their colleagues for the changes ahead.

“Ice cream socials, staff appreciation luncheons and academic conferences are all great opportunities for us to provide information about the Enterprise Project,” says Brandi Gilbert-Hammett, interim human resources director at CFAES, who has been a part of hosting information tables at recent events. “It gives faculty and staff a chance to ask questions and learn how the implementation of Workday will positively affect them.”

During a recent staff appreciation luncheon, Tracy Kitchel, CFAES associate dean for faculty and staff affairs, took an opportunity to briefly acknowledge the Enterprise Project, Workday and the role of the Change Coordinators and Ambassadors.

“We don’t want folks sitting in their offices concerned about this. We want an open dialogue so we can proactively discuss changes, answer questions and alleviate concerns so we can better move through this process,” said Kitchel.

Kitchel encouraged attendees to focus on the benefits of transitioning from using multiple systems to one system, Workday. He also emphasized how this will allow faculty and staff to thrive by focusing less on administrative tasks and more on Ohio State’s mission-driven work.
