President Drake Emphasizes Shift to Workday
On Thursday, October 31, President Michael V. Drake sent an email to all faculty and staff regarding Workday. This message formally communicated Ohio State's Workday implementation and timing. President Drake also acknowledged how the shift to Workday will advance Ohio State’s operational excellence goals, and thanked those who have contributed to this transformative work thus far. Over the coming year, the Ohio State community will take bold strides toward our operational excellence and resource stewardship goals in the university’s strategic plan.
A milestone achievement will include replacing our aging administrative technology with Workday, which will consolidate many systems and experiences into a single, mobile-friendly platform.
The move to Workday, will mean change for all faculty, staff and student employees across our campuses and the Wexner Medical Center. From viewing pay to purchasing items to selecting your benefits, we will soon have new pathways to accessing information — and that information will be more unified, reliable and consistent.
This shift is transformative for our institution. I thank the many staff and faculty who have contributed to our Workday implementation in ways large and small. Your leadership and engagement will ensure our new system meets the needs of all employees.
You will have a variety of opportunities to learn about this new system for doing business at Ohio State. Please pay close attention to the Workday information communicated throughout the academic year, particularly as system training becomes available in spring 2020.
