Workday Will Transform Buckeye Business
As Ohio State moves toward its initial release of Workday, employees across campus and the medical center are becoming more familiar with the Workday system and how it will impact their current employee experience. Following brief demonstrations that introduced the look and feel of Workday, known as "Workday 101" presentations, Change Coordinators are now organizing "What's Changing?" presentations for their colleagues.
The "What's Changing?" presentations capture how the implementation of Workday and other Enterprise Project initiatives will change the business technology and services used at Ohio State today. Changes are grouped together based on audience, broken down by staff, faculty and managers. (Managers are those individuals with direct reports.)
At the highest level, all employees will be empowered to:
- Manage personal data, such as updating an address, selecting benefits, viewing pay and submitting changes as the result of a life event (e.g. marriage or baby).
- Find others using interactive org charts with real-time information and updates.
- Submit requests for travel and upload documentation directly to expense reports using a mobile app.
- Complete other business tasks, such as tracking time – all in one place and on the go.
Faculty will also be empowered to manage grants post-award and purchase goods. Lastly, managers will be empowered to lead their teams with more visibility into data and on-demand reports.
